JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber, LLP is seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join our Insurance and Bad Faith Recovery team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to advocate for clients who have been wrongfully denied insurance coverage or treated unfairly by insurers. The ideal candidate is a strong litigator with a passion for holding insurance companies accountable and has an interest in learning about insurance bad faith, coverage disputes, and complex insurance claims.
This will be a remote position with a strong preference for candidates based in California.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$150,000-$180,000 annually
Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from inception to resolution.
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and draft complex motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel.
- Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives.
- Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues to develop case strategies.
- Additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in California.
- 5+ years of litigation experience.
- Strong motion-writing and legal research skills.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the legal team.
- Willingness to travel for depositions, court appearances, and case work.
