Job Description

Hancock Daniel is a growing, mid-sized firm with a national reputation as a leader in health law. Our Abingdon, VA office is seeking a Paralegal to assist the litigation team, which includes workers’ compensation and employment related matters. We are open to candidates seeking full-time employment. We are interested in motivated candidates with prior litigation, workers’ compensation or employment paralegal experience.

Duties:

  • Review and organize medical records
  • Manage and maintain electronic files
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and summarize data and information.
  • Assist with the preparation of pleadings and discovery
  • Assist with drafting and maintaining checklists
  • Assist with scheduling of depositions, mediation and other meetings
  • Assist with maintaining attorney’s calendar
  • Preparation of files prior to hearings and mediations
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or prior Paralegal experience and/or Paralegal Certificate 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; proficiency a plus
