Real Estate Paralegal (Property Management)

We are seeking a Real Estate Paralegal (Property Management) to join our West Chester, OH office and a legal team with three (3) members. 
 
Summary of responsibilities: 
 
  • Litigation Tracking: Track litigation, fair housing complaints, and other legal notices to ensure deadlines are not missed. Manage discovery responses for litigation and fair housing complaints. Maintain databases of construction liens, notices of claim and other construction documents so appropriate parties are notified of issues and informed of claims. Source outside counsel for eviction litigation in various states. 
 
  • Insurance Claim Processing: Process various insurance claims related to owning and managing a large multifamily real estate portfolio. Collaborate with team members and third parties to ensure orderly close-out of insurance claims.  
 
  • Real Estate Tax Abatement Coordination: Coordinate completion and delivery of annual forms required for tax abatements and incentives.  
 
  • Communication Processing: Review and process documents for distribution to appropriate team members. Manage service of process database to ensure appropriate distribution upon receipt. Track and assist with completion of tasks required following formal notices.  
 
  • Outside Counsel Invoicing: Review and process outside counsel invoices for payment. Maintain database of legal expenses to ensure payment is made timely and accurately. Prepare legal expense reports for executive team.  
 
  • General Legal Support: Provide support to the executive team as necessary. Work with the development team to collect signatures for closings and other matters. Manage other general office duties such as preparing overnight shipments, service of process, certified mail, and other tasks as assigned.  
 
Successful candidates will have: 
 
  • Paralegal degree or certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with real estate, property management or similar fields.
  • Strong organization, communication, and drafting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
