Requirements

 Primary Responsibilities:

· Execute case strategy with associate attorneys, paralegals, clients, and support staff.

· Manage complex estate and tax planning which includes but it not limited to drafting estate planning instruments such as wills and trusts and filing gift tax returns.

· Manage complex probate and trust administration matters, which includes, but is not limited to overseeing the entire administration process and the preparation of federal and state estate tax returns. 

· Research complex tax issues.

· Manage your own caseload.

· Keep clients informed by maintaining regular contact, communicating case progress, working with Certified Public Accounts, Financial Advisors, insurance brokers, beneficiaries, and other legal counsel.

· Provide mentorship to associate attorneys. 

· Attend business development and networking functions with firm leadership and solo.

Qualifications:

· At least 8 years’ experience practicing estate planning in Oregon. 

· Demonstrated knowledge of complex estate and tax planning.

· Have an active Oregon State Bar membership. 

· Washington State Bar membership, a plus.

· A LLM in tax planning, a plus.

· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

· Must have exceptional client service skills, including the ability to build rapport with clients.

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.

· Must be detail-oriented and set high standards for accuracy.

· Must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365.

· Must have experience preparing and filing estate tax returns (federal and state) and gift tax returns.

· Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills required.

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and company information.

· Must have the ability to handle a heavy caseload.

· Must be dependable.

· Must be willing to supervise staff and attorneys within practice group.
