Short Description

Performs paralegal duties (corporate or litegation) independently with limited supervision by Deputy General Counsel.

 

Duties include legal research, preparation of contracts, reviewing and preparing changes to transactional matters.

 

Corporate -organizing corporate books, assisting with professional services     agreements, preparing Business Associate Agreements, reviewing IT agreements, managed care agreements, EEOC correspondence, assisting with the Agreements with Referral Sources Committee, and assisting attorneys with guardianships and involuntary commitments. The senior corporate paralegal will also work on special projects as assigned by an attorney.



Litigation - review and summarization of litigation matters, investigation and

preparation of discovery materials in litigation matters. Review, organize and maintain all correspondence, billing, email responses for all litigation matters.  Coordinate and schedule depositions for employment, general liability, medical malpractice and fact witness matters.  Place litigation holds on patient records for pending events, claims, lawsuits.  Insurance Reporting for all reportable events, medical malpractice and employment matters.  Review and disburse subpoenas for fact witness depositions, record requests, etc.  Assist Claims Manager in prepping for coders and auditors, as well as in preparing for Committee meetings and any other duties as assigned.

Experience Required

5-6 years law firm or in-house experience

Education Requirements

Associates degree or Completion of Paralegal Certificate Program

License/Certification Requirements

Certified Paralegal (preferred)
