Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP See More Job Openings by This EmployerThe Attorney Compliance & Admission Specialist handles the logistical and substantive tasks related to attorney bar admission and Continuing Legal Education compliance, including but not limited to, tracking admission and compliance statuses on an individual basis, communicating with attorneys regarding the same, and supporting related workstreams as part of the Attorney Training, Compliance and Professional Development team.
- Provides general support to the Attorney Compliance & Admission Manager in their functions by supporting admission and compliance tracking, documentation and development across all Firm offices to ensure attorneys remain compliant with admission policies and in good standing with all admitted jurisdictions, including by remaining compliant with relevant Continuing Legal Education rules;
- Manages data associated with ViLMS, the Firm’s CLE tracking database, including monitoring attorney’s CLE credits and compliance records;
- Coordinates regular audits and review of processes to ensure data integrity;
- Assists with CLE and attorney registration review, tracking and outreach to attorneys;
- Assists with admission related matters (e.g., documentation, tracking and outreach);
- Supports research, development and processes around any additional jurisdictions and their regulations;
- Supports collaboration with Recruiting and Legal Talent teams as related to admission and CLE requirements for pre-arrival and attorney departures;
- Serves as a liaison with bar and licensing authorities on behalf of the Firm, as needed;
- Communicates with attorneys of all levels with regard to training and compliance matters;
- Assists with attorney training programs as needed, including in-person coverage of CLE programming;
- Provides general assistance on ad-hoc projects; and
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- 2-4 years of professional services experience;
- Large law firm or corporation experience preferred;
Familiarity with viLMS, NY CLE requirements and CLE requirements for other jurisdictions a plus.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
Superior proofreading and auditing skills;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Capable of solving problems and meeting deadlines;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
Must have the ability to work and interact effectively with attorneys and staff at all levels, and the ability to gain strong knowledge of the Firm, its culture, practices and policies;
Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information and have a professional demeanor;
Superior judgment, including in early identification of potential issues and their effects;
Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
Must be team oriented and work well in a collaborative team environment; and
Availability to work overtime, as needed.
This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
