Position Summary:

• Provides paralegal services to Port Houston attorneys and staff. Prepares and reviews legal documentation under attorney supervision, as required in the operations of Port Houston.

Preferred Experience:

• For this opening, the ideal candidate will have experience:
• Assisting with all stages of claims and litigation.
• Using e-discovery platforms.
• Preparing requests for and responses to discovery requests and subpoenas.
• Locating, organizing, reviewing, redacting, and maintaining information responsive to discovery requests and subpoenas.
• Coordinating meetings, interviews, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Monitoring the status of claims and maintaining a claims and litigation database; and
• Assisting with the review of contracts, procurement documents, and outside attorney billing.

Education/Experience:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited academic institution preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution preferred
• 5+ years of combined experience in a law department, law firm, or business, or equivalent administrative duties preferred
