Settles class C misdemeanor tickets and cases, including discussing options for settlement with the defendant; assists the public in person and by telephone; types correspondence, subpoenas, warrants, citations, probable cause letters, and other documents; compiles data and prepares periodic required reports; and maintains manual and computerized office files and records- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs receptionist duties, including greeting the public, answering the telephone, providing information, transferring calls, and taking messages, checking downloads, faxes, emails and voicemails.
· Handles class C misdemeanor tickets and cases, including collecting fines and court costs, recording final dispositions, issuing pre-warrants, warrants and capias pro fines, and entering tickets into the computer.
· Processes payments at the counter
· Balances cash drawer with receipts at the end of the day.
· Issues warrant recalls and processes warrant returns.
· Processes mail.
· Drafts and mails correspondence to defendants and/or attorneys.
· Directs documents to other courts and county offices.
· Prepares certified copies for outside agencies.
· Reviews for accuracy documents submitted to the court.
· Enters and scans all case information into the computer including bond information, dismissals, payments plans, insurance cards, etc.
· Enters all notes from any contact with defendants into each case the clerk deals with on a daily basis.
· Schedules proceedings and traffic summonses.
· Performs filing duties.
· Schedules weddings to be performed by the judge.
· Schedules appointments.
· Assists with deposits and credit card download in the absence of the Court Manager.
· Prepares credit card payments from the website.
· Assists Senior Court Clerks with on-call jail work including all aspects of Senate Bill 6

High school graduation, or its equivalent.- Knowledge, Skills and/or ability
Standard office practices and procedures; and principles of customer service. Bilingual is a plus but not a requirement.
Operate computers, especially to perform basic word processing functions; read and understand manuals, codes, and statutes; write letters and other documents; perform basic mathematical functions; make change and balance cash drawer; operate office equipment, such as copy machine and facsimile machine; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
