Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to make a difference in local government? The City of South Jordan is seeking a Full-Time Paralegal to join the Office of the City Attorney. In this vital role, you'll support operations by assisting with legal research, drafting official city documents, coordinating public records responses, and managing administrative tasks. If you're a legal professional with strong administrative skills and a passion for public service, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

Conduct highly skilled legal research and analyze relevant case law and statutes. Review and respond to records requests and subpoenas. Draft ordinances, resolutions, legal pleadings, and internal communications. Support litigation efforts and assist with contract management. Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, transcribe minutes, and manage travel and training logistics. Serve as a notary public and collaborate with other departments across the City. Maintain legal filing systems, handle budgeting tasks, and process purchase requisitions.

Who You Are:

🔹 High school graduate or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in legal studies, criminal law, or a related field preferred). 🔹 At least two years of full-time paid experience performing similar duties; paralegal certification or formal training is a plus. 🔹 Previous work in a legal, administrative assistant, or paralegal role is highly desirable. 🔹 Strong verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. 🔹 Skilled in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms. 🔹 Must have a valid Utah Driver License and be (or be willing to become) a licensed Notary Public within 6 months of hire.
