UNCLASSIFIED FULL-TIME GRANT POSITION IN THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY
***Due to specific requirements of the grant funding of this position, applicants must have a prior felony conviction to be eligible for employment.***Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in clerical or customer service work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Special Requirements:
Formerly incarcerated individual who has successfully transitioned into society; and experience working with formerly incarcerated individuals with re-entry issues.Specific License or Certification Required: None.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

JOB SUMMARY: Fulton County Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) at the Office of the District Attorney, in collaboration with Morehouse Medical School (MSM), will address mental health and substance use disorder challenges, as well as other reentry services, for individuals convicted in Fulton County who qualify for post-conviction sentence modification. The Administrative Clerk (Peer Mentor) will work with formerly incarcerated individuals participating in the FCDA Re-Entry Program. The Administrative Clerk (Peer Mentor) assists the Social Worker/Project Manager in helping to link currently incarcerated individuals with logistical re-entry planning, emotional support, and long-term recovery tools to facilitate their transition away from prison life. The Administrative Clerk (Peer Mentor) will help mentees evaluate their choices more effectively and provide guidance about appropriate interpersonal skills and ways of coping, helping to give the mentees confidence in order to achieve stability.This position will be supervised by the Social Worker/Project Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES and DUTIES:
Provides direct services to the men and women who have been accepted into the Conviction Integrity Unit and MSM program to transition from prison back into society; work with participants while still in prison to plan for their transition; assist the Social Worker/Project Manager during meetings with participants; meet with participants regularly, both individually and in groups; meet with each participant at least once a week; provide support outside of standard work hours if a participant is in crisis; and supports Morehouse School of Medicine as necessary.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serves as the receptionist or first point to contact for the public: answers telephone calls and greets visitors; ascertains nature of business, directs callers/visitors to appropriate personnel, and records/relays messages; initiates and returns calls as necessary.
Provides clerical support for an assigned department/division; processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures.Performs customer service functions; provides information/assistance regarding department/division services, activities, procedures, fees, or other issues; distributes forms/documentation as requested; responds to routine questions or complaints; researches problems/complaints and initiates problem resolution.
Operates fax machine to send/receive documentation; transmits faxes on behalf of department/division staff; distributes/delivers incoming faxes to appropriate personnel; replenishes paper supply in fax machine as needed; and types/sends e-mail messages; screens incoming e-mail messages.
Processes incoming/outgoing mail; sorts, organizes, opens, and/or distributes incoming mail; signs for incoming mail/packages and delivers to appropriate personnel; processes outgoing mail through postage machine; processes bulk mailing projects; copies and distributes forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation.Files documents for the department/division; prepares and sets up files; sorts/organizes documents to be filed; files documents in designated order; and retrieves/replaces files.
Monitors inventory of department supplies and forms; ensures availability of adequate materials to conduct work activities; initiates requests/orders for new or replacement supplies.Conducts routine research of department files, court/legal records, database records, hardcopy materials, Internet sites, or other sources as needed.
Types, prepares, or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, lists, receipts, work orders, or other documents.Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, lists, newsletters, calendars, exemption applications, affidavits, legal documents, maps, catalogs, policies, procedures, manuals, directories, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; performs data entry functions by keying data into computer; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, case management, calendar, Internet, e-mail, or other programs.Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, County officials, court personnel, attorneys, vendors, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
