Litigation Associate - Baton Rouge

We are currently hiring ambitious and self-motivated lawyers in the Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation practice group in our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office. This practice focuses on defending tort and personal injury claims against companies throughout the Southeast and includes claims involving trucking accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability, workplace accidents and exposures, wrongful death, business fraud, breach of warranty, and other business torts. We also defend suits against business entities based on alleged statutory violations, including civil rights claims and discrimination.

What you will do:

• Be a strategic part of litigation teams (lawyers and other highly qualified legal professionals) committed to providing excellent representation to our clients;
• Confer and communicate directly with clients and client representatives;
• Work up cases proactively and effectively through discovery, issue-spotting, and research;
• Participate in trial preparation;
• Take and defend depositions; and
• Prepare and argue motions.

What you bring:

3 to 4 years of litigation experience;

• Strong motivation to grow as a litigator and take initiative in your professional development;
• Experience with civil discovery and motion practice;
• Experience or willingness to learn how to take and defend depositions; and
• Excellent research and writing abilities.

Qualifications and Skills required:

• Juris Doctor;
• At least 3 years of litigation experience at a law firm; and
• Active membership in good standing with the Louisiana Bar.
