Job Description

Amazon's legal department is looking for a smart, talented and highly motivated customs and international trade attorney looking to make an impact at an innovative company. Come have fun and make history with Amazon's Global Logistics Legal team! Among other things, you will be the main point of contact for the Global Logistics team's customs compliance and regulatory legal work. While this role will primarily be focused on customs issues, there will be significant opportunities to expand scope to new areas and advise on a wide range of legal and business risks and opportunities.

Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day and strategic advice regarding complex customs compliance and regulatory issues
- Working with outside counsel to manage disputes or research customs issues
- Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate legal exposure
- Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways
- Building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly
- Some travel, domestic and international, may be required

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience advising stakeholders on complex customs compliance and regulatory issues

- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Experience with in-house work at a technology or internet company
- Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
