Primary Purpose:__________________________________________________________________________
To serve as a key advisor to the general counsel and senior leadership on legal operations and risk management strategies for the association.
Essential Job Functions:___________________________________________________________________
- Assist with the management of the association's legal operations framework to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Work alongside FMI counsel and SQFI and FMI leadership to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and governing bodies.
- Monitor regulatory and policy developments relevant to the industry and advise leadership on legal implications.
- Collaborate with external counsel as needed on legal matters affecting the association.
- Manage the review and approval of contracts, agreements, and other key documents to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Assess and mitigate risks related to document retention, data security, and confidentiality.
- Review and approve conference presentations, speaker decks, and other materials to prevent conflicts of interest, antitrust concerns, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Develop and lead training programs for staff on legal topics including compliance, risk mitigation, and antitrust, as needed.
