
Delta Dental of Arizona, the state’s #1 dental and vision insurance company, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic Legal and Compliance team. Essential Functions
- Provides high-quality oral and written legal advice cost-effectively to internal clients.
- Recommends practical courses of action to achieve client goals within the scope of what is legally permissible.
- Actively contribute as a member or leader of cross-functional projects.
- Representative duties include drafting and reviewing legal documents (e.g., contracts, insurance policy forms, insurance-related documents, marketing material, and others) involving substantial legal issues, researching legal issues, and assisting with litigation management.
- Manages a fast-paced and diverse workflow.
- May review the work of compliance.
- May prepare and conduct training sessions for internal clients.
- Maintains current knowledge of legal issues and developments in the law.
- Other duties may vary according to business unit support needs.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admittance to the Arizona State Bar or eligible to be in-house counsel in the state of Arizona
- 2-4 years of experience
- Basic understanding of insurance laws and regulations
- Understands the insurance industry and its concepts
- Experience with health insurance industry and provider networks
- Preferable to have experience with government programs including AHCCCS, Medicare Advantage, and ACA plans
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Client focus and relationship-building skills
- Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Enjoys learning and is comfortable engaging with new technology
Starting pay for this position includes a starting base pay range of $125,000- $178,000.
