This is a hybrid position (3 days in office) based out of our Tampa, FL office location.
Daily responsibilities may include:
Process and manage title claims from states on a national level.
Claims management includes investigating and determining coverage, correspondence with insured as to coverage and status: statutory compliance resolving title defects, directing defenses with outside counsel, negotiating settlements mitigating losses for the company, determining agent liability, and pursuing/preserving recovery.
Review and track expenditures related to claims.
Negotiate claim settlements and obtain approval where necessary
Own a customer’s issue from initial contact to resolution or transition the issue to the appropriate person.
Ensure company policies and financial controls are understood and uniformly followed and administered and ensure work activities are carried out in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Education: Juris Doctor. Licensed to practice law. If not licensed by the state bar at employee’s office location, they must be permitted to act as corporate counsel in that state.
Skills and Experience required to be successful:
Knowledge of title insurance and real estate closing transactions is preferred; however, strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills with an interest in real estate/title law will also be considered.
Aptitude for processing and organizing large volume of documentation and written communications.
Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
Problem solving ability to effectuate solution for covered claims.
Some Travel is expected for company events or Claims work
