Duties Serves as the National Veterans Support Coordinator (NVSC) for the National Employee Wellness Branch within the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). Responsibilities include providing oversite for the BOP's Battle Buddy (B3) Program, disseminating information about, and developing activities for use by the B3, consulting on critical incidents involving employees who are military veterans, and assisting in the development of other employee support activities. Responsible for researching, developing, and implementing activities to reduce the risk for suicide in employees who are military veterans. Performs a variety of complex analytical activities to evaluate, develop, advise, and promote improvement in policies, practices, methods, and procedures, to benefit BOP military veterans. Researches, provides interpretation, information, and advice on policies and procedures affecting the BOP's military veterans. Analyzes and evaluates administrative internal control systems to assess compliance with agency directives and effectiveness. Works closely with veterans' organizations, government agencies outside the BOP, and community resources to ensure BOP military veterans receive the assistance they require. Salary- $121,785 - $158,322/year
