A Brief Overview

Responsible for all secretarial and clerical support for the legal department.

What you will do

  • Answer telephones, take messages, and route calls accordingly.
  • Open and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail daily.
  • This may include documentation of certified mail both incoming and outgoing.
  • Maintain stock levels of all necessary materials and inventory.
  • Prepare legal correspondence and pleadings as directed by leadership.
  • Organize and index files, documents and correspondence.
  • Perform transcription as requested.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. These requirements and those listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years Legal secretary experience
