Full-time Litigation Paralegal Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience in litigation support, with a strong background in eDiscovery and proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw. This challenging role offers an opportunity to work on complex cases and contribute significantly to our firm's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, both electronic and physical, ensuring all documents are properly filed, indexed, and easily accessible.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and other resources to support attorneys in case preparation and strategy development.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and edit various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence.
  • eDiscovery Management: Oversee the entire eDiscovery process, including data collection, processing, review, and production, while ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing exhibits, creating trial binders, and preparing witness files.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a liaison between attorneys and clients, providing updates on case status and addressing client inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Deadline Management: Monitor and maintain calendars for court appearances, filing deadlines, and other critical dates, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Fact Investigation: Conduct factual investigations, including internet research, document review, and witness interviews to support case development.
  • Deposition Support: Assist in preparing for and attending depositions, including organizing exhibits and taking notes.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and file court documents in compliance with local, state, and federal court rules, including electronic filing systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • 5-15 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Strong proficiency in eDiscovery tools and processes
  • Advanced skills in legal research, including extensive experience with Westlaw
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal-specific software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
