About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced first chair General Liability Defense Attorney to join our Cincinnati office. This is a high-impact opportunity to step into an established and active caseload with strong client relationships.


Due to immediate business needs, we are looking for a candidate who can quickly assume responsibility for litigation matters and support ongoing client work. This role is critical to maintaining and growing a significant book of business.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as first chair counsel on general liability defense cases
  • Manage a full caseload from intake through trial
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Develop case strategy, evaluate exposure, and provide client guidance
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with internal team members including attorneys, nurse consultants, and support staff

Requirements


  • Licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Kentucky (required)
  • Minimum 5+ years of litigation experience in general liability defense (more experienced candidates encouraged to apply)
  • Proven experience serving as first chair or lead attorney on cases
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, and trial skills
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong client relationship and case management abilities


Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance defense experience
  • Trial experience with demonstrated courtroom presence
  • Portable business is a plus but not required
Salary Description
$95,000+ annually (commensurate with experience)
