Who we are looking for:
Atkore’s Legal Department seeks an in-house legal intern to work at its corporate offices in Harvey, IL. This is part-time paid hourly position during the Fall 2024 semester. The position offers complete flexibility with law school commitments.
What you’ll do:
Under the supervision of the Legal Department consisting of a General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Counsel and Paralegal, the candidate will be exposed to transactional law and litigation, contract drafting and negotiations, M&A, real estate, human resources, strategic sourcing, marketing, finance domestic and international governance and intellectual property. The legal intern will work closely with each member of the legal team to gain a thorough understanding of the work product as well as learning best business practices within a corporate legal environment. This is great experience and ideal for someone living near downtown or in the southwest suburbs. This location is not near public transportation so the ideal candidate should have access to a vehicle.
Who we are looking for:
- 2L or 3L Law student with high energy
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment
- Ideal candidates should have outstanding research and writing skills along with effective oral communication skills
- Ability to work well with a variety of teams across the company
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; online legal research
