Position Overview:
This role is ideal for an attorney in the early stages of their litigation career who is ready to take ownership of cases, appear in court, and build strong advocacy skills. You will work closely with senior attorneys, gaining hands-on experience across all phases of litigation—including motion practice, depositions, discovery, negotiations, and trial preparation.
Prior consumer warranty defense experience is helpful but not required. A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to client-focused representation are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft motions, discovery, briefs, and related legal documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Participate in settlement discussions and prepare settlement agreements.
- Appear in court for hearings and law & motion.
- Engage in meet-and-confer efforts with opposing counsel.
- Assist with trial preparation and strategy.
- Perform legal research to support case development and motion work.
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Up to 3 years of civil litigation experience (consumer warranty experience is a plus but not required).
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Motivated, dependable, and eager to develop litigation skills within a supportive environment.
Compensation:
- Starting salary of $120,000+ DOE
