Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Workday Technical Analyst, reporting to the Director of HR Operations.
The Workday Technical Analyst will assist with the development of a robust Human Capital Analytics solution. The position will utilize Workday technical skills to enhance and streamline reporting capabilities and implement and deliver standardized reporting and dashboard metrics for the HR organization and Firm Leadership. This position will also play a role in the implementation of new Workday integrations and support current Workday integrations. This position will work in a collaborative environment to gather and validate business requirements and recommend solutions.
This position can reside out of our Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, or NYC offices offering a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.
Responsibilities
Act as a technical system matter expert (SME) for reporting and integration development.
Assists with software implementation and upgrades as necessary.
Assist in the definition and standardization of global HR data sets.
Configure and perform audit reporting to monitor and maintain data integrity.
Manage confidentiality of data by adhering to established security standards.
Analyze requests and prepare reporting for various surveys, publications, internal project needs and routine delivery of key HR metrics.
Consult with various firm stakeholders to interpret data results and formulate narratives which support the data for various internal and external requests.
Effectively communicate complex, technical information concisely to non-technical personnel.
Assist with data management and reporting of EEO, AAP and other HR Compliance requirements.
Effectively collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to define and document requirements for effective dashboards and reports that enable human capital information sharing across HR and Firm/Practice Group Leadership.
Assists the HR Centers of Excellence and other HR teams with data analysis.
Proactively apply analytical and research skills to monitor trends and apply predictive modeling techniques to support the Firm’s Global HR Strategy.
Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and streamline reporting requests and dissemination of HR data.
Participate in the ongoing requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of configuration for new integration functionality and/or enhancements between Workday and other systems using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Web Services, API and other integration tools.
Communicate with third-party vendors regarding file transfers, specifications, and issue resolution.
Support special projects and initiatives at the request of HR & Firm Leadership.
Troubleshoot and resolve production support issues and resolves defects timely and with exceptional customer service.
Recommend best practices to ensure optimal use of Workday reporting and integration functionality based on knowledge of Firm processes and technology.
Continuously increase technical and industry trend knowledge by participating in Workday Community and other forums, including on-line discussions, brainstorms, voting, training, webinars etc.
Participate in Workday’s bi-annual releases.
Assist end-users and internal teams on Workday related issues.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in an analytical or quantitative discipline, HR, MIS, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of directly related HRIS and Workday experience in a professional services industry.
Workday experience in Integrations and Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Trending, BIRT) is required.
Experience with PECI integration for third party payroll vendors, preferred.
Proficient in MS Excel
Experience with SQL, preferred.
HR acumen and technical aptitude, with proven experience in data management, analysis, and interpretation
Experience synthesizing large amounts of data as well as identifying trends.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills (including grammar and punctuation), as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will possess effective problem solving and time management skills, ability to multitask, independent decision-making, discretion, and judgment.
Self-motivated with a focus on driving results and strong sense of accountability.
Proven record of setting delivery commitments and meeting expectations.
Ability to critically think and have an analytical mindset with a strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team.
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn new systems and processes through instruction, guided training, and self-training.
