Job Description

PJI Law, PLC, a boutique law firm in Fairfax, Virginia, is growing and has a new full-time opportunity for a Paralegal in our Civil Litigation Department. The position is as challenging as it is rewarding, and is ideal for a go-getter with a strong work ethic who is looking for a position in which to grow.

Your duties as paralegal would be to help manage client relations and provide case-related support, including the preparation of pleadings, documents, and court filings, assistance with discovery, and communication with vendors, among other traditional paralegal responsibilities. Our firm exists to help those who wish to plan for the legal protection and security of their families and businesses, sometimes in the wake of a personal or professional loss, and this position is crucial in allowing us to effectively help them.

The successful candidate would have demonstrated experience in civil litigation and in Virginia Circuit Court and General District Court procedures. The paralegal would also be experienced in the effective communication with clients, the workflow involved in common civil litigation matters, the preparation of court filings, the drafting of pleadings, the discovery process, and communication with vendors such as process servers, court reporters, and others.

This position requires a person who is kind, self-driven, detail-oriented, highly organized, a team player, able to effectively delegate work to and supervise legal assistants, and who has exacting standards for their work product. The successful candidate can expect to effectively manage a busy caseload, including keeping the client consistently updated on their matter, keeping track of all deadlines, and completing all tasks timely and competently.

Our firm offers long-term growth opportunities. We also maintain reasonable expectations in order to allow for a sustainable work-life balance. Our firm is well managed and our office is a team environment; you will be working with other kind, driven, and wonderful members of our team who work hard to get the job done right, who take pride in their work, and who support each other through thick and thin.

In each 2022, 2023 and 2024 we earned the prestigious “Great Place to Work” certification, with an average of 99% of our employees over those three years praising our firm as a great place to work in an anonymous third-party survey. Our approach has allowed us to succeed and build a loyal client base that has sustained our strong growth and has earned us various awards as well as enthusiastic reviews from our clients.
