Our Bakersfield Legal office is seeking a motivated Attorney III to join our exceptional legal team at State Compensation Insurance Fund. We represent insured employers and various State agencies in workers’ compensation matters and are looking for an attorney who can make an immediate impact.
As an Attorney III, you will handle, defend, litigate, and resolve complex workers’ compensation cases.
Bakersfield is home to some of the most experienced workers’ compensation attorneys, with decades of practice in both public and private sectors. We defend cases aggressively, using a collaborative, thoughtful and targeted approach focused on serving out clients’ best interests.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a seasoned workers’ compensation attorney who can independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision. We value diversity and inclusion, and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
Location:
The Bakersfield Legal unit primarily appears before the Bakersfield Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), but our attorneys may appear at other WCAB offices throughout Central California.
This position offers remote flexibility; however, the successful candidate will be required to attend some hearings and other calendar commitments such as depositions, arbitrations, meetings, and training in-person as required.
Your Role:
As a vital member of our legal team, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with internal and external clients
- Drafting compelling pleadings, correspondences, and legal documents
- Conducting thorough discovery
- Negotiating and drafting settlements
- Making confident court appearances, including trials
- Managing an active caseload while meeting critical deadlines

Salary- $10,852 - $15,325/month
