Stark & Stark is actively hiring a Paralegal for our Nursing Home Negligence Group in our Hamilton, NJ office. In this full-time, on-site role, you’ll work closely with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to deliver excellent results on behalf of the people we represent. Responsibilities:
- Draft and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and procedural motions.
- Manage case timelines and deadlines.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant third parties.
- Perform accurate data entry and case updates in Filevine.
- Support case investigations by identifying at-fault parties and assessing liability.
- Communicate with clients to gather information on injuries, treatment, and financial losses.
- Analyze medical records, billing documentation, and related materials to support liability and damages claims.
- Identify and evaluate applicable health insurance coverage and potential liens.
- Draft demand letters and other legal documents; strong writing skills required.
- Prepare cases for settlement, litigation, and trial, including exhibit and visual aid creation.
Qualifications
- The preferred candidate will have at least two years of civil litigation experience; entry-level candidates with a strong interest in personal injury law are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury matters is preferred.
- Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Paralegal Certificate required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.
- The ideal candidate will be self-directed, and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Able to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, judgment, confidentiality, professional and ethical standards in communications with both external and internal parties.
- Well organized and able to see an assignment through to successful conclusion.
- Able to think analytically and solve problems with little direction.
- Able to demonstrate a customer service demeanor regardless of the person or issue at hand.
- Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies in the legal field.
