Overview
This position will require a skilled lawyer to provide legal advice to various investment banking trading and lending desks, including the supervising of outside counsel.
You will be an integral part of the Bank’s lending, finance and securities coverage team within the investment bank, negotiating transaction documents and providing legal advice and legal and risk assessments for complex transactions, including cross-border transactions.

What You’ll Do
Broad transactional coverage of Global Credit Lending and Trading and LatAm Emerging Markets businesses within the Investment Bank
Provide expert legal advice; draft, review, and advise on a wide variety of structured finance transactions, including direct lending, project finance, aviation finance, repurchase transactions, risk participation agreements and credit insurance agreements
Be actively involved in the management of legal, regulatory and reputational risk, including close coordination with other risk functions
Advise the lending, trading and structuring groups in relation to the legal and regulatory framework governing the securities markets, the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Company Act of 1940 (as amended)
Advise on Dodd Frank and other laws and regulations governing the structured finance and securities markets. Expertise on the Volcker Rule is a plus
Represent Deutsche Bank on related industry and regulatory committees and working groups (where appropriate)
How You’ll Lead
Close communication with team leader and senior legal management within the Investment Bank, Engagement and management of external counsel
Coordination and collaboration across control functions and across regions, providing succinct legal advice
You’ll act as Team leader - Head of Lending and Finance Investment Bank, Americas, Global Co-Head of Lending and Finance for the Investment Bank, in addition to Global General Counsel of the Investment Bank
Skills You’ll Need
Moderate experience as a transactional attorney in a law firm or corporate in-house legal department. Experience in financial services preferred
Experience with, and a sound understanding of investment banks and broker-dealers as well as a general understanding of the Banking and financial markets
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal and relationship skills; a high degree of self-motivation and ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong analytical skills and good judgment, with the ability to problem solve and apply legal concepts in a pragmatic manner
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and member in good standing of the [New York or New Jersey] bar
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Sophisticated investigative and analytical skills; strong problem resolution and decision-making ability
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Familiarity with structured credit instruments and their legal documentation (credit agreements, securities financing agreements, secured loans, repos)
Understanding of Dodd-Frank, U.S. securities laws and the Investment Company Act of 1940 (as amended)
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $170,000 to $254,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
