As we expand and evolve, we are seeking a dedicated in-house paralegal to join our legal team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Position Overview: As the In-House Litigation Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting the General Counsel and legal team in effectively managing active multi-state litigation and pre-litigation matters within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining the litigation tracker, facilitating and coordinating document preparation and production, subpoenas, discovery, trial preparation, and communication with internal stakeholders and outside counsel, including insurance carriers. Your responsibilities more generally will include fact gathering with relevant internal and external stakeholders, reviewing documentation, coordinating with outside counsel, drafting responses to notices of breach and terminations, and providing litigation updates and support to the General Counsel and legal team. This is an in-office role located in Plano, Texas, with the option to become a hybrid-role. Applicants should be located within the greater DFW area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track all ongoing litigation matters involving the company across all operational states.
- Maintain accurate records of case status, deadlines, and developments.
- Manually track cases as the legal department grows and transitions to applicable software platforms.
- Collaborate with state market leaders to facilitate litigation across all markets.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for litgation purposes, including insurance brokers and executives.
- Identify potentially privileged and confidential information in company documents and prepare privilege log for review, approval and use by attorneys.
- Present and discuss case strategies and mediation settlements with internal legal team.
- Draft and revise various documents such as correspondence, notices, and other legal responses under the guidance of the General Counsel.
- Conduct legal research and report findings as assigned by the General Counsel.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion as to departmental and company dealings, information, projects and issues.
- Perform other legal administrative duties such as scheduling and other tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification as paralegal preferred (or equivalent on the job experience).
- Minimum of 1-3 years litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Prior exposure to multi-jurisdictional litigation matters is preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal processes, procedures, and terminology.
- Experience reviewing and facilitating implementation of contracts, affidavits, litigation briefs, motions and pleadings and discovery responses.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities and the ability to work independently and think critically.
- Public Notary designation (or willingness to pursue, if requested).

Pay and Benefits:
$55,000 to $75,000, depending on education and experience.
