
Van Der Hout LLP is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our expanding employment and family-based immigration practice. This full-time, in-office position offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys in preparing non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, Labor Certification/PERM applications, and other immigration-related filings.
The successful candidate must be able to work with moderate supervision and guidance in reviewing case documents and preparing employment-based immigration applications for filing with various government agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in immigration law, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and excellent communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including PERM Labor Certifications, Adjustment of Status and Naturalization
- Manage status of cases filed applications and petitions
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues
- Review and approve client billing (under supervision of attorney)
- Run reports to monitor deadlines
- Oversee status of cases using case management and billing systems
- Calendaring deadlines, and reminders
- Write declarations
Qualifications:
- At least 1-3 years of Immigration Law paralegal experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent English skills (written and verbal)
- Interest in human rights and immigration matters
- Computer literacy
- Customer service skills
- Proficiency with case management software and other reporting tools and technologies used to manage data and information
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
