Position Overview:
We are seeking a Legal Analyst to provide technical support and guidance in the development and interpretation of policy, legislative, and regulatory proposals.
Duties:
Provide legal and regulatory analysis to staff, particularly related to procurement and legislative matters
Serve as lead during General Assembly legislative sessions, analyzing procurement-related legislation
Develop and interpret policy, legislative, and regulatory proposals
Coordinate legislative briefings and debarment actions with Governance and Procurement Program Managers
Serve as liaison to the Office of the Attorney General to resolve legal issues and coordinate procurement claims
Support leadership by preparing impact analyses and status reports on legislative developments
Required Skills:
4 years of combined training, education, or experience in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Management, Public Management, Public Policy, or a related field
5 years of demonstrated ability to negotiate, mediate, settle disputes equitably, and handle difficult situations diplomatically
5 years of experience planning, coordinating, and managing multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
5 years of ability to analyze complex financial data or legislation, work with detailed numerical data, draw logical conclusions, and generate reports
Preferred Skills:
- 2 years of knowledge of the Code of Virginia as it relates to Information Technology
