Position Summary
A Personal Injury Claims Assistant provides essential support to the Case Work up & Medical Management Claims Specialist, as well as the Negotiations and Disbursements Claims Specialist. Reporting to the Pre-Litigation Claims Manager, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient claims processing while embodying GGRM's values.
Salary Range:
- $40,000 - $50,000, depending on experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Processing assigned claims in accordance with Firm policies and procedures.
- Ensuring case management software (CMS) feed is cleared daily.
- Completing all assigned tasks by relevant deadlines.
- Documenting all relevant activity in CMS properly.
- Ensuring emails are cleared daily.
- Maintaining organized electronic and physical claim files while ensuring all documents are properly filed in the correct system tabs.
- Processing initial claim setup, preparing welcome and representation letters, and handling incoming correspondence efficiently.
- Handling client, provider, and adjuster calls with professionalism and empathy, and maintaining proactive communication with all involved parties.
- Requesting and following up on medical records, bills, police reports, and other claim-related documentation to support case development.
- Requesting, verifying, and managing account balances, liens, and subrogation requests to ensure accurate financial records.
- Creating and maintaining accurate settlement sheets and supporting Claims Specialists with the organization and documentation of settlements.
- Managing reduction requests and ensuring proper organization of all settlement-related materials.
- Supporting attorneys and Claims Specialists with administrative duties and assisting with special projects as assigned.
- Contributing to overall team efficiency and effectiveness through consistent communication, organization, and task execution.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer
- Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms
- Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
- Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up
- Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format
- Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the Firm
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of six months of experience in the legal field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Authorized Nevada Notary
