Team Description
Our 17-person legal and regulatory team prioritizes collaboration, creativity, and innovation. In addition to providing superb legal advice, our legal team focuses on building deep relationships with each other and other Cascade teams to add value to our investment process.
Position Description
The Legal Operations Analyst will design, maintain, and enhance systems and tools that support legal operations, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, automation, generative AI, and process optimization. This role supports the legal and regulatory team’s work on trading, transactions, and compliance matters related to our diverse public and private portfolio. This role bridges the gap between legal and technical domains, ideal for someone passionate about investments, the law, legal tech, AI, and data-driven decision-making. The analyst will be responsible for developing and managing workflows, legal datasets, and scalable solutions that improve efficiency and support Cascade’s compliance efforts. A successful candidate will be comfortable owning systems and processes end-to-end and collaborating cross-functionally with legal, technology, and other investment operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Tech Systems: Oversee systems and processes for various legal data and workflows, including knowledge management, trade support, regulatory compliance, employee trading, vendor contracts, enterprise risk management, and more. Administer, populate, and report from multiple databases that capture information about our legal entities, investments, trading restrictions, counterparties, workflows, and other matters
- Process Optimization & Automation: Own and evolve workflows by identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable, tech-enabled solutions
- Enterprise Risk: Maintain dynamic risk assessment frameworks and tools to facilitate annual risk reviews and reports to leadership
- AI Exploration & Implementation Strategy: Research and evaluate emerging AI tools relevant to legal and compliance functions, providing strategic recommendations on their adoption and designing and executing implementation plans
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain awareness of evolving legal tech trends to inform system enhancements and innovation opportunities
- Project Management: Participate in, and manage, a wide variety of legal department, and cross-department, projects
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in a relevant field (e.g. pre-law, business analytics, computer science, or similar). This role is ideal for early-career professionals
- Technologically savvy with proficiency in Power BI and Excel; experience with SQL, Smartsheet, Power Apps and demonstrated ability using AI or other technologies for novel uses are a strong plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills; ability to work with complex data and systems
- Intellectually curious, proactive, and independently completes assigned tasks
- Quick and eager learner who easily adapts to new responsibilities and tools by proactively seeking knowledge and asking insightful questions
- Strong time management, problem-solving and organizational skills

$80,000 - $115,000 a year
Cascade is committed to paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. Base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple reasons, including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, education, and degree to which a candidate meets the role requirements, current business needs, and market factors. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position will generally be between $80,000 to $115,000 per year, but the final salary offered may be outside this range based on these reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, base salary is only part of the total compensation package as we believe that our employees are the reason for our success, and in recognition of their contributions, eligible employees may participate in a generous annual performance-based discretionary bonus program.
