The FBI Digital Forensics & Analytics Section seeks an Information Systems Security Officer subject matter expert to support IT systems used by our highly technical experts throughout the country and provide solutions that directly support our forensic procedures and accreditation requirements.
Duties
- Serves as an Information Security (INFOSEC) subject-matter-expert (SME), supporting the DFAS IT systems by implementing cybersecurity policies and best practices for secure operation protection of FBI information and information systems (ISs).
- Provides management level briefs on vulnerabilities and pitfalls, and provides mitigations and best practices to counter the cyber security threats.
- Serves as an advisor on levels of confidentiality, integrity and availability and issues with establishing and preserving those levels.
- Tracks progress of comprehensive OTD/DFAS cybersecurity strategy initiatives and provides quarterly reports to executive management.
- Participates in STB Cybersecurity initiatives and works towards obtaining Authority To Operate on DFAS systems.
- $92,293 - $119,986/year
- Must be a current, permanent FBI employee.
- Some travel may be required (approx. 10% occasional CONUS travel as deemed essential ).
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
- Experience with systems development, life cycles, (i.e., systems documentation design development, and configuration management), automated and manual information processing systems.
- Experience in technology management, problem solving, and implementation of related cyber security activities.
- Knowledge of Plan Of Action & Milestones (POA&M) mitigation and remediation action plans.
- Knowledge of the FBI's Joint Cybersecurity Authorization Management (JCAM) tool, or legacy Xacta, to monitoring activities and deliverables for assigned systems.
- Knowledge of basic network diagrams.
Selected candidates may be offered a relocation incentive up 25%, if eligible and will be required to sign a two-year service agreement
Memorandum for Record: Work performed outside assigned duties (that would not normally be documented on an SF-50, i. e., back-up duties), has to be documented in detail by an immediate supervisor in order to receive full credit for amount of time worked in that position. If no documentation is furnished no credit will be given for time worked in that position. The following notations must be specified in the documentation (Memorandum for Record):
- Percent of time worked in the particular position (cannot conflict with main duties)
- The month/year work began
- Frequency worked (i.e., daily, monthly, etc.)
- Specific duties performed
