We are a highly respected plaintiff law firm seeking a Legal Assistant to join our dynamic San Diego team. Our firm is dedicated to providing outstanding legal representation and delivering exceptional client service. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a can-do attitude to support our legal team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Locate contact information for witnesses and defendants
- Prepare, file, and serve complaints and trial subpoenas via process servers
- Coordinate between process server and attorneys to provide status updates and address any issues with service
- Contact witnesses to inform them of trial updates and coordinate their appearance
- Serve records subpoenas to medical providers (and other custodians of records) and compile necessary records
- Retain experts, coordinate their depositions, and serve as their point of contact
- Compile documents (from case file + client) for expert review
- Serve expert document productions
- Prepare, file, and serve documents including (but not limited to): 1985 record objections, 1987 notices, 2034 expert elections

Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, or support role preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, witnesses, experts, and service providers.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy across multiple cases.
- Ability to work proactively and independently while also collaborating effectively with a legal team.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when preparing and reviewing legal documents, subpoenas, expert materials, and records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and comfort learning case management or document management software.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- $24 - $26/hour
