Job Description
The Clerk's Office of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska is seeking a full-time chief deputy clerk in Omaha, Nebraska.
Duties This is a senior level executive position who assists the clerk of court in providing leadership, management, and supervision of the clerk's office and assists in the organizations planning, development and implementation of office procedures, and management of the daily functions, including case management, courtroom services, statistical analysis, statistical reporting, information technology, financial management, budget, space and facilities, procurement, and human resources. The chief deputy is the alternate certifying officer for the Court. The chief deputy is appointed by the clerk of court. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists the clerk of court in providing leadership, management, and supervision of the clerk's office, including the leadership team. Works with members of the bar and the public to improve the quality of court services. Works with various governmental agencies on a variety of matters necessary to conduct court business. Assists in the preparing and managing the court's annual budget. Works closely with the financial staff in directing the court's financial services functions in accordance with statutory requirements. Conducts special studies or coordinates and implements special projects related to court administration, operations, and other areas, as may be requested by the judges or clerk of court. Advises the clerk on matters affecting the functioning of the entire clerk's office. Analyzes and makes recommendations on statutes, local rules, and procedures affecting the operations of the court. Assists with the receipt, handling, preparation, storage, and control of all official and quasi-official records and materials received in, created by, or processed through the Office of the Clerk of Court. Reviews and analyzes organizational structure, reporting relationships and functional assignment, striving to meet current and future organizational needs. Provides methods and systems for maintaining time and attendance records, per diem reimbursements, and other matters affecting the compensation of personnel in the court system. Release, certification, or authentication of copies or originals of all official records of the court and office of the clerk of court. This involves such internal administrative records as time, leave, payroll, travel, per diem, and other fiscal records relating to the operation of the court. Improvement of general working conditions, including programs for the phased-out modernization of equipment, furniture, and physical layout and arrangement best suited to meet the current and projected requirements. Recommends personnel action concerning subordinate supervisors and evaluates their performance. Performs other duties as assigned. Salary- $145,115 - $221,250/year
