Salary: Range 49 - $37.97 (step one) - $48.13 (step ten) *
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Work Location: In-person/telecommuting (hybrid) - King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104. An alternative schedule is subject to supervisor approval.
- Job Duties
- Manage District Court Unit’s (DCU) Seattle daily jail calendar (EBC)
- File and manage daily RUSH cases for DCU
- File all DCU cases with each court location: Seattle, MRJC & Redmond
- Liaison between PAO/PbK team/court for any filing issues
- Maintain Filing Queues in PbK
- Process all pre-trial and follow-up DX for DCU; receive and upload materials into PbK
- Primary support with Evidence.com for all DCU
- Assist trial paralegals with discovery requests
- Provide support for our filing team: NCICs, special projects, coverage issues
- Liaison between Court and Filing DPAs when an issue arises with a case filing
- Assist with prepping cases for filing and provide addition support for importing cases into PbK
- Respond to e-mails in a timely manner
- Assist LSP Supervisor, Unit Chair and Vice Chairs as requested
- Perform related work or other projects as requested or required
- Actively participate in PAO equity work, attend equity training and discussions
- Additional responsibilities and/or tasks may be incorporated, or existing ones modified as business needs evolve

- The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks that require the exercise of initiative and independent judgment with the ability to anticipate needs and appropriately respond
- Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with deputy prosecutors, law enforcement officers, defense attorneys, defense investigators, court personnel, witnesses, victims, and other agencies
- Skills in responding in a positive, mature, and helpful manner with numerous individuals including witnesses who may be in various emotional states and reluctant to assist with prosecution
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions and initiate action
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks often effectively and accurately within short deadlines
- Ability to handle emergency situations and work under pressure
- Skill in using computers and a variety of software such as Prosecutor by Karpel (PbK), Word, Adobe Pro and Excel; familiarity with Power BI and other criminal justice programs is a plus
- Knowledge of legal office practices and procedures, particularly in the Mainstream Criminal Division
- Must have demonstrated predictable and reliable attendance
- Must be able and willing to accept supervision, feedback, and coaching
- Commitment to Race, Equity and Social Justice work including ongoing cultural competence development
- Desire to work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement

Application Process:
PAO employees who are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117 will receive priority consideration. There exists a broken rung in many organizations that can make attaining formal positions challenging to historically excluded groups. Selection Process
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, qualified bargaining unit members will be invited to participate in a panel interview process.
*Employees with less than 2 years of service will receive .25 per hour less than the hourly salary table due to a mandatory contribution toward the Teamsters Pension Trust that was voted by members of Teamsters Local No. 117.
