Duties Serves as a physician providing clinical leadership, education and oversight to the physicians who provide direct patient care to federal incarcerated inmates. Responsible for providing clinical oversight and mentoring of Clinical Directors at the institutional level, thereby ensuring the delivery of health care services in accordance with Bureau of Prisons treatment guidelines and established scope of services. Provides orientation/mentoring for all newly hired Clinical Directors and follow-up peer review. Conduct peer review evaluation of Clinical Directors. Participate in selected Focus Reviews, and other investigations related to clinical care. Conduct follow-up evaluations on clinical issues identified by Program Review, Joint Commission, or other internal or external reviews. Review all inmate deaths, including institutional mortality review findings and Central Office independent physician reviews, and subsequently oversee necessary follow-up action by the institution on clinical practice issues. Provide consultation to Regional Directors on complex medical cases such as compassionate releases, interregional transfers, and medicolegal cases. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis. Salary- $145,000 - $350,000/year
