ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable firm in Williamsburg, VA and is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Trust & Estate Administration Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant to join a small boutique firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term career with opportunities for growth.
The candidate should have at least one (1) year of experience as a trust and estate administration paralegal or legal administrative assistant in a law firm. Familiarity with probate or other court procedures is a plus. We will also consider candidates with an accounting background (CPA not required), particularly if familiar with estate or trust accounting.
The responsibilities of this position will be to assist attorneys and the senior paralegal with all aspects of trust and estate administration, more specifically, the preparation and filing of inventories and accountings; real estate deeds; business transfer documents; certificates of trust; pleadings pertaining to estate and trust administration; and all other documents related to probate and trust administration matters; and to work with the Commissioners of Accounts, their auditors, and court clerks as needed.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and take on increasing responsibility; able to manage a busy calendar, including deadlines, suspense dates, and court-related timelines; highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities; communicate professionally with clients by phone, email, and during in-person meetings; coordinate with courts, financial institutions, accountants, and other professionals as needed; and ensure matters progress efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate must be professional, dependable, and a collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
