Associate Attorney - Finance - Restructuring & Special Situations

Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a talented Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney to join their premier Restructuring & Special Situations practice in their New York office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex domestic and international financial restructurings across a broad range of industries as a 3rd-4th year associate.

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

• Active Bar Admission in New York.

• 2+ years of substantive experience in financial restructuring.

• Experience representing debtors, creditors, lenders, sponsors, or other stakeholders in out-of-court workouts, liability management transactions, and Chapter 11 proceedings.

• Familiarity with the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, Article 9 of the UCC, and other relevant financial regulatory frameworks.

• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and commercially thoughtful approach to client service.

• Advise clients on the full range of restructuring matters, including complex liability management transactions, distressed financings, and formal insolvency proceedings.

• Draft and negotiate key restructuring documents such as credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, restructuring support agreements, and plans of reorganization.

• Support corporate and financial institution clients on distressed M&A transactions and bankruptcy-related litigation.

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including finance, corporate, and litigation attorneys.

• Interact directly with clients, financial advisors, and opposing counsel to develop and implement restructuring strategies.
