ABOUT THE ROLE

Logistics Property Company is currently seeking an experienced In-House Real Estate Attorney to join our legal team. This role will be dedicated to supporting our team on real estate transactions, compliance, and strategic legal advice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Please note this is a hybrid role based in our Chicago Loop office.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide legal support for acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing of real estate assets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate-related agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, joint venture agreements, construction, and loan documents.
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions, including title and survey reviews, zoning and land use analysis, and environmental assessments.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and risk management related to real estate investments and operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, asset management, acquisitions, and operations to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and other third-party service providers.
  • Stay current on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and support.
ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a J.D., a strong academic record, and active membership in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience within a law firm or with a real estate company in an in-house legal capacity.
  • Strong background in real estate law, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and contract in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Possessing outstanding oral and written communication skills are required, and the ability to persuade and present positions effectively with a variety of constituencies.
  • Be a team-oriented professional but also have the ability and confidence to work independently.
  • Display a strong work ethic, flexibility, and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, and unqualified ethics and integrity are essential for successful integration into the company's culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to act independently and effectively with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and support broader company objectives in real estate development.
COMPENSATION

The Assistant General Counsel role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $175,000 to $215,000 annually plus bonus, reflecting the company's good faith estimate based on market data and internal equity.
