OVERVIEW:
Alo is seeking a midlevel corporate attorney to provide support on a wide range of day-to-day legal issues including the negotiation of supply, manufacturing and logistics-related agreements, a broad range of commercial contracts and data privacy compliance. This position is a great opportunity for an individual interested in working on a broad array of legal issues in a fast-paced, growing company. This is a hybrid role based in the Los Angeles area and the attorney will be expected to come into the office at least three days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, negotiate and see through execution a wide variety of commercial contracts including supply and manufacturing agreements, logistics and other operations-related contracts, data privacy addendums and SaaS agreements. Work closely with legal support staff to ensure all contracts are properly executed and stored.
- Collaborate with relevant business teams to address legal aspects of international operational issues.
- Work with internal business teams to develop, implement and review company policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure that all contracts and legal documents comply with company processes. Work with the company’s information security and digital teams to ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, creative, marketing and other business units, to address contract-related issues and provide strategic advice.
- Manage relationships with external legal service providers and ensure their performance aligns with company expectations and standards.
- Enthusiastically pitch in on other Legal department projects and tasks. Continually develop new expertise as the business grows and proactively tackle new subject matters as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- D. from a top tier law school and strong academic credentials
- Admission to the California bar
- Five to seven years transactional experience in big law and/or in-house
- Advanced understanding of global data privacy frameworks
- Prior experience with retail and e-commerce is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Outstanding analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-starter with ability to balance many projects simultaneously and complete tasks accurately, on schedule and with minimal supervision
- Must be able to accommodate tight deadlines
- Sensitivity to and practical knowledge of working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and ability to explain legal requirements and concerns in layman’s terms
- Willingness to take initiative
- Ability to work flexible hours
The base pay range for this position is $175,000-$225,000, which represents the current range for the exempt position. Please note that actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
