Chemours is seeking a Compliance Counsel to join our growing Ethics & Compliance team! This position will report directly to the Director, Compliance & Senior Corporate Counsel at our Wilmington, DE location.
The Compliance Counsel will be responsible for many of our ethics investigations and will play a critical role in supporting the continued evolution of our global compliance function, including policy drafting, risk assessments and remediation plans, and data analysis for presentations to senior leadership and the Chemours Board of Directors. We are looking for a business-savvy, self-starter who can help us take Ethics & Compliance to the next level!
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Acting as the primary investigator of ethics matters reported to the Company including conducting investigatory interviews, reviewing documentary evidence, drafting memoranda, and communicating investigatory findings to stakeholders
Provide assistance and guidance to other investigatory teams
Assisting in the management and administration of the Chemours Ethics Hotline
Developing and revising compliance protocols and policies related to new or emerging risk areas
Assisting in compliance risk assessments
Serving as a point of contact for ethics related matters for stakeholders in the business
Identifying training needs and providing training on key compliance topics
Assisting with the team’s data analysis and reporting to senior executives and the Board
The following is required for this role:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Minimum 3+ years’ legal experience in investigations, compliance, or litigation
Work at least 2 days a week in the Wilmington office
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to remain impartial and maintain confidentiality
Detail oriented and able to handle complex investigations
The following is preferred for this role:
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards
Strong PowerPoint Skills
Experience with SharePoint, PowerBI, online training providers/platforms (LMS) and/or NavexEthicspoint
