
SUMMARY
A mid-sized, national real estate development, construction, and management company seeks a paralegal with 5+ years’ experience to provide legal and clerical support on multi-family residential, multi-state real estate transactions from origination to finalization of post-closing matters, in addition to forming and maintaining corporate entities.
THIS IS AN IN OFFICE POSITION/NO HYBRID
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree required; Paralegal certification and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of corporate or real estate paralegal experience in a large law firm or in-house legal
- department
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-starter. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and good judgement
- A strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail and professionalism
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Ability to manage shifting priorities, competing deadlines, and work in a team environment
- Professional work ethic and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining timely completion of a closing or transaction
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat, and Gmail
DUTIES
- All aspects of forming and maintaining entities, including the preparation and filing of Articles of Incorporation/Organization, amendments, state qualifications, consents, filing annual reports, and corporate compliance
- Apply for and maintain all business licenses and contractor’s licenses for each jurisdiction
- At the direction of counsel, review and revisions of purchase and sale contracts, in addition to obtaining title, surveys, zoning letters, and other diligence related to land acquisitions.
- Organize due diligence for real estate financing
- Prepare and assemble acquisition and loan documents and coordinate documents for closings
- Coordinate acquisition and loan documents for closings
- Assemble closing documents into binders and maintain organized filing system
- Promptly and judiciously address all matters related to litigation, liens, and garnishments
