OrganizationDistrict AttorneyPayPay FrequencyFull Time / Part TimeFull timeJob SummaryThe Tulsa County District Attorney's Office is seeking a paralegal to serve as the hub of a five-attorney office that provides legal support for Tulsa County Officials. The paralegal will assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Office manager of the civil division (which has five attorneys) of the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office; organizes, manages and helps design Microsoft Office and SharePoint tools to serve the needs of the office; in the future, may spearhead finding and incorporating case and matter management software for the office; manages office calendar and attorney reminders; prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, etc.; handles all incoming and outgoing mail; answers telephone; scans mail into the appropriate files or attorney inbox and make copies as necessary; maintains office policy on naming, location and structure of folders and files; shreds documents preserved digitally; serves as notary public
  • Communicates with witnesses, clients, judicial personnel and other government offices as may be needed
  • Assists in the investigation of public records, the requesting and review of medical records, and in making discovery requests for production of documents; may review, analyze and summarize those documents
  • Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and discovery requests; files motions and pleadings with the Court as required, and takes copies of motions to judges
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources as may be required, including providing a written analysis and summary for attorneys.
  • Summarizes depositions, trial testimony and witness interviews as may be required.
  • Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate required.
  • Some related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
