Duties
This Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for directing personnel security matters and providing personnel security guidance, assistance, and support to applicants, contractors, managers, supervisors, and employees throughout USAO-DC. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia, located in Washington, District of Columbia, focusing in the areas of personnel security.. Typical work assignments will include: Plans and directs work to be accomplished by the personnel programs staff. Participates in the development of performance standards. Interviews candidates for positions within the PSU and recommends appointments, promotions, or reassignments to such positions. Identifies ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work assigned to the PSU. Assists in the development of new or revised operating procedures to meet program requirements of the Human Resources Section and Administrative Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Directing personnel security matters or providing personnel security guidance; Planning or directing work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel programs staff; Resolving or providing solutions to personnel security problems; Assisting Human Resources or Administrative department by developing or revising operating procedures, preparing budget justifications, or providing advice regarding strategic planning. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
