The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, Administration Division, is seeking a Senior Account Clerk. This position, located in Honolulu, manages financial transactions, maintains accounting records, processes travel and payments, conducts small purchase procurement including office supply replenishment, and supports department operations with accurate and timely fiscal management.
What You Will Do:- Manage the accounting system for the State Witness and Extradition program, including travel requests, reimbursements, and related financial records.
- Perform fiscal analysis, prepare schedules and reports, and assist with audits to support departmental fiscal management.
- Process purchases, payments, and reimbursements, including the use of department purchase cards and petty cash.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, bills, and departmental financial transactions.
- Perform a variety of ancillary administrative support service duties including reviewing time sheets and facilitating vendor communications.
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
This experience must demonstrate the ability to:
Four (4) years of clerical experience, three (3) years of which shall have been in account record keeping work.
- Maintain fiscal accounts and records;
- Prepare financial reports and statements;
- Interpret fiscal records and data;
- Compare names and numbers for accuracy;
- Operate calculating and adding machines, typewriters, and standard office equipment;
- Follow oral and written instructions; and
- Work harmoniously with others.
Substitution:
- An Associate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of clerical experience and up to one year of account record keeping experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting or auditing courses, of which six must be above the elementary course level and from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university, will substitute for ALL of the required experience.
