URUS is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Paralegal or Mid-Level Contracts Attorney in its Madison, Wisconsin, office to support its worldwide agriculture services biotech business. The employee will work closely with the General Counsel and will be a key contributor to the legal team to ensure a high level of service while protecting the business. Principle support areas will be in the field of contracts and corporate governance. Opportunities are abundant for growth into other areas of interest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, draft, and (via email) negotiate contracts and terms and conditions, with the supervision, support, and direction of the General Counsel.
- Help manage and prepare corporate governance documents, including corporate books, board minutes, consents, and other governance-related records while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Aid the General Counsel in compliance-based efforts across the company.
Job Requirements:
- BA or BS from an accredited college or university
- Minimum experience with contracts: 7 years as a paralegal or 4 years as attorney, preferably with experience in the bio, agricultural, tech, or stem sector
- Ability to work full time from the Madison office, with the option of working up to 2 hours daily in a home office during traditional or nontraditional worktimes
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for organizing and improving processes
- Curiosity regarding businesses and their concerns in the contracting process
- Ability to manage multiple work streams
- Desire to learn new topics, gain new skills, and grow professionally
