The Opportunity
Coldwell Banker Realty, part of Compass International Holdings (the nation’s largest real estate brokerage company) (NYSE: COMP), is seeking a skilled and business‑savvy lawyer to join our dynamic in‑house legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key advisory and compliance role in one of the most recognized and respected real estate brands in the country.
This position supports brokerage operations across multiple states, making it ideal for candidates seeking impact, diversification, and balance. This position will report to Coldwell Banker Realty’s General Counsel.
As Regional Brokerage Counsel, you will be a trusted partner to leadership, brokerage managers, and shared service teams — helping guide strategic decisions, reduce risk, and support the continued growth of our business. You’ll collaborate with departments such as Litigation, Independent Contractor Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Learning and Development.
What You’ll Do
You will serve as a key legal advisor across the organization, with responsibilities that include:
- Providing expert legal guidance on the laws, rules, and regulations that impact our real estate brokerage operations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and related documents with independent contractor agents and third‑party vendors to support business growth and retention goals.
- Drafting and updating brokerage forms for inclusion in internal forms platform.
- Advising business leaders on strategies that drive success while minimizing legal and operational risk.
- Reviewing marketing and learning materials to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and identity standards.
Monitoring changes to the laws and regulations affecting brokerage operations and developing and delivering related learning content through various internal communication channels.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced legal professional who brings both expertise and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Member of Massachusetts Bar with 7-10 years of legal experience
- Knowledge of real estate brokerage laws and regulations
- In‑house experience or exposure to corporate legal environments
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across the organization
- A consultative, solutions‑oriented approach to supporting business objectives
- A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and alignment with company values
- A positive, proactive, “can‑do” attitude
