Key Responsibilities
Commercial Real Estate Specialist
Serve as primary contact for clients, lenders, title companies, vendors, and opposing counsel.
Coordinate complex closings, including timelines, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
Oversee due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, refinancings, and leasing portfolios.
Manage transaction communications and document flow to ensure timely completion.
Advise attorneys and clients on transaction timelines, market practices, and closing requirements.
Maintain checklists, closing agendas, and critical date tracking.
Paralegal
Independently manage purchases, sales, leases, financings, and refinancings.
Draft, review, and revise transaction documents, including purchase agreements, loan documents, amendments, and closing materials.
Review title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, environmental reports, and prepare title objections.
Coordinate lender requirements and closing documentation.
File entity formation documents and required governmental filings.
Manage due diligence, post-closing obligations, and file organization.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and legal standards.
Support workflow coordination and process improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, title, survey, zoning, and closing practices.
Excellent drafting, proofreading, and document management skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex matters with accuracy and limited supervision.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Client-facing experience and professional discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal document management systems, and e-recording platforms.
Flexible schedule, including overtime as needed.
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field required; ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred.
Demonstrated experience with commercial real estate transactions and closings.

ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable firm in Richmond, VA and is seeking a legal support professional who can serve as both a Commercial Real Estate Specialist as well as a Paralegal. The Commercial Real Estate Specialist/Paralegal supports attorneys in the Corporate and Securities practice with a focus on commercial real estate transactions. This role requires an experienced professional who can independently manage high-volume transactions from inception through closing, oversee due diligence, coordinate all parties, and provide substantive commercial real estate expertise. The Specialist/Paralegal also mentors junior staff, improves workflows, and serves as a key liaison among attorneys, clients, lenders, and third parties.
