This role is based in Jersey City, NJ. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week with the option of working remotely for the remaining two days.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will
- Shape, inform and implement multifaceted litigation strategies across various subject matters to advance and protect company priorities
- Strategize, coordinate and manage all aspects of pre-litigation matters, including investigating facts and documents related to disputes and litigation
- Provide regular reports to the Chief Litigation Counsel, relevant senior management and risk management of all litigation and related matters
- Manage and oversee outside counsel in litigation and enforcement matters, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and settlement negotiations
- Attend depositions of Company witnesses, mediations, arbitrations and trials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information, assess risk and develop legal strategies to resolve disputes
- Identify opportunities for improving internal litigation processes and implement solutions
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Admission to New Jersey Bar (or Admission to other state bar with NJ Limited License for In-House Counsel)
- Minimum 7+ years of combined relevant legal experience including both law firm litigation and in-house experience
- Effective negotiator with a good sense for practical business solutions to problems
- Self-assured and comfortable handling matters independently
- Energetic with a dynamic personality and can inspire the confidence of the business team, management, departmental colleagues and other support groups
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity and strategic, proactive decision making
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple matters in a timely manner
