Forged Fiber is about more than building a network—it's about people. Every role matters. Every contribution counts. Together, employees create impact through teamwork, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence.

The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Infrastructure Attorney with 8+ years of experience to provide strategic legal counsel and manage complex matters related to Forged Fiber's fiber network infrastructure and real property portfolio. The role reports to the Head of Legal and is critical to delivering on business priorities and protecting the organization's interests across our multi-state infrastructure footprint. This is a highly visible role for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is comfortable serving as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leaders.

What You'll Do

As a Director, Network Infrastructure Attorney, typical tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing Complex Legal Matters: Oversee and manage complex legal projects related to the company's fiber infrastructure, including public and private right-of-way agreements, franchise agreements, pole attachment agreements, utility coordination, conduit access arrangements, and municipal relationships across the company's multi-state footprint.
  • Providing Strategic Legal Counsel: Offer expert legal advice and guidance to senior leadership and company managers on a wide range of legal issues related to network infrastructure, real property rights, and the acquisition and maintenance of rights to place and access fiber through public rights-of-way, pole attachments, easements, and private property agreements.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing infrastructure rights, including FCC pole attachment regulations, state public utility commission requirements, and local franchise obligations. Implement risk management strategies to protect the organization's infrastructure interests across all operating jurisdictions.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate significant infrastructure-related legal documents, contracts, and agreements, including right-of-way agreements, franchise agreements, pole attachment agreements, easement agreements, and related real property instruments to protect the organization's interests.
  • Due Diligence and Operational Support: Support due diligence efforts as needed, assist with tracking permit and franchise renewals across multiple states, and coordinate with external affairs and legal operations on agreement database management and compliance tracking.

About You

You are a strategic, detail-oriented network infrastructure attorney with a proven ability to manage complex real property and right-of-way matters across multiple jurisdictions. You think big but pay attention to detail. You're a problem solver skilled at navigating the intersection of legal, regulatory, and operational challenges in a high-growth infrastructure environment. You bring:

  • A law degree and an active license in good standing to practice law in assigned state
  • 8+ years of related experience, with a strong background in real property law, infrastructure rights, right-of-way acquisition, and/or telecommunications infrastructure matters
  • Deep expertise in public and private right-of-way agreements, pole attachment agreements, franchise agreements, easements, and related infrastructure legal matters
  • Knowledge of and an interest in FCC pole attachment regulations, state public utility commission requirements, and local franchise obligations
